Our story
Our Land's Gold
In the 1950s, our grandfather inherited his grandparents’ land, on the outskirts of Menzel Kamel, situated in the heart of the Tunisian Sahel; a land nurtured by the Mediterranean basin. A passionate farmer, our grandfather always took great care of his trees, cultivated solely for the family.
After his death, we have, in turn, inherited these olive trees. He passed down to his children the passion for this livelihood, the art of the harvest, of what we call ‘our land’s gold’.
A traditional, family business
The family know-how has been handed down through the generations, we have carried on working in the same traditional way. We have noticed that farmers around us also let nature do the work, without using chemical treatments.
Méditerroir
In 2011, we created ‘Méditerroir‘, our family company; we began with the process of certifying of our land, and that of our cousins, who were interested in our way of working with the international certification organisations. We have also invested in stainless steel equipment for bottling and storage. For several years now, we’ve had the opportunity to export our oil, packaged by our brand, in Europe and the whole world.
